About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and RevyseAI (“Revyse”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use the RevyseAI mobile app, the web app at app.revyseai.com or this website at revyseai.com. Together we call these the “service”.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use RevyseAI
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.
You must also be allowed to use the service under the laws that apply to you.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for what happens in it. Please:
- give us accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date
- keep your password private and use one you do not use anywhere else
- do not share your account or let someone else use it
- tell us straight away at revyseteam@gmail.com if you think someone else has got into your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app. Deleting it removes your material and everything made from it, and this cannot be undone.
Your material
“Your material” means the documents you upload, the questions you ask, your voice questions and anything else you put into the service.
You keep ownership of your material. We do not claim it as ours.
To run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, process and display your material, and to send it to the providers listed in our privacy policy, only so far as we need to provide the service to you. If you host a multiplayer quiz room, you also give us permission to show questions made from your material to the players in that room. This permission ends when you delete the material or your account, except for copies that take a short time to clear from backups.
You promise that you have the right to upload your material and to use it this way. Lecture notes and handouts often belong to your lecturer or school. Uploading them for your own private study is usually what they were given to you for, but do not upload material you were told to keep private, and do not use RevyseAI to share someone else’s work with people who should not have it.
What Revvy makes
The summaries, key points, quizzes, flashcards, podcasts, answers and other output the service makes from your material are yours to use for your own study.
AI can make mistakes. Revvy works from your material, but the output can still be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and it can sound confident when it is wrong. Always check important facts against your own notes, your textbooks and your lecturers. RevyseAI is a study aid. It does not replace your course material, your teachers or professional advice of any kind.
Similar requests from different users can produce similar output, so you do not have exclusive rights in what Revvy makes.
Academic honesty
RevyseAI is built to help you learn your material. You are responsible for following the rules of your school, your course and your exams. Do not use the service to cheat, to complete work that is meant to be your own when your school does not allow AI help, or to get answers during a test or exam.
Fair use and things you must not do
When using the service, you must not:
- upload anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else’s copyright, privacy or other rights
- upload harmful, hateful, sexually explicit or abusive content, or content involving the exploitation of children
- use the service to harass, bully or threaten other people, including in multiplayer rooms
- try to get into another person’s account or data, or into parts of the service you are not meant to reach
- probe, scan or test our systems for weaknesses, or get around our security or usage limits
- overload the service, send automated or bulk requests, or scrape it
- copy, sell, resell or rent the service, or use it to build a competing product
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right
- use the service in a way that breaks the law or the usage policies of our AI providers
We set reasonable limits on how much each account can upload and generate in a period of time so the service stays fast for everyone. These limits may change.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at revyseteam@gmail.com instead of testing it further.
Multiplayer quiz rooms
When you join a multiplayer room, other players can see your name and score. If your account has no name, part of your email address may be shown instead. Questions in a room are made from the host’s material and are shown to everyone in the room. Be kind to other players. We may remove rooms or players that break these terms.
The Android app
We offer the Android app as a direct download from revyseai.com. Only download it from our website, because copies from anywhere else may have been changed. Your phone may ask you to allow installs from your browser. That setting is yours to manage, and you can turn it off again after installing.
Paid plans
RevyseAI is free to use right now. We plan to add paid plans and features. When we do:
- we will show you the price, what you get and how often you will be charged before you pay
- payments will be handled by a payment provider, and their terms will also apply to the payment
- a subscription will renew automatically until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time before the next renewal
- when you cancel, you keep what you paid for until the end of the period you already paid for
- if we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you before the change and you can cancel before it applies to you
We will add any further terms for paid plans to this page before they launch. We will not charge you without your clear agreement.
Our service
We work hard to keep RevyseAI running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available, free of errors or exactly as it is today. We may change, add or remove features, and we may pause or stop the service. If we plan to shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice where we can so you have time to save what you need.
The service may rely on other providers, such as our hosting and AI providers. We are not responsible for problems caused by those providers that are outside our control.
Our content
The RevyseAI name, logo, Revvy, the app, this website and their design, text and code belong to us or the people who license them to us. These terms do not give you any rights to them except to use the service as intended. Please do not use our name, logo or Revvy in a way that suggests we endorse you.
Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close your account, or remove material, if you break these terms, if we have to by law, or if your use puts other users, us or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
The sections of these terms on your material, our content, disclaimers, limits on liability, indemnity and disputes continue to apply after your account closes.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about the service beyond those written in these terms. We do not promise that the service or its output will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure or suitable for a particular purpose, or that using it will lead to any particular grade or result.
Some places do not allow some of these disclaimers. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RevyseAI and the people who work on it are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, grades, opportunities, income or goodwill, that comes from using or being unable to use the service.
Our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50,000 Nigerian Naira.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of material you uploaded or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, as far as the law allows.
Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a problem with the service, please email us first at revyseteam@gmail.com and we will try to resolve it with you. If we cannot resolve it, the courts of Nigeria will have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
Everything else
These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, sale or reorganisation of our business.
